About Me
Layne is currently the Center Historian at NASA Ames in Silicon Valley, California. Previously the curator of the modern military aircraft collection at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, she earned her PhD at the Johns Hopkins University in the History of Science and Technology. Most recently Layne's research has centered on the architecture of Cold War command and control rooms and the history of human factors engineering.
